3C Multi-Use
What do you look for in a product? value, practicality, usability, longevity? … What if you could get all 4!… Let’s take a closer look at 3C Multi-Use Sealant & Adhesive.
In the densely saturated sealing & bonding market, rarely does a product comes along that makes a difference to the way a tradesperson thinks and works! A sealant & adhesive that’s been developed for both sealing and bonding use (in one) is not a new thing, but this type of product has certainly evolved and gained popularity over the past decade with various users preferring to have a handy ‘snagging’ type of material, available in their toolbox armoury.
What is 3C Multi-Use Sealant & Adhesive?
As with all of the 3C Sealants range, the title of the product is straight to the point, to explain what it is and what it does, with no gimmicks or misleading straps. The actual material is a Universal MS Hybrid Polymer packaged in a standard-sized cartridge that seals & bonds almost all materials used in the construction industry, making 3C Multi-Use a very handy all-in-one product for any professional tradesperson or home DIY user.
What makes 3C Multi-Use Sealant & Adhesive different from the competition?
Our own brand has a very interesting take on the traditional ‘all-in-one’ products, in that, as well as adding a high quality anti-mould fungicide to further expand the possibilities of internal use to areas of high humidity such as bathrooms, kitchens, swimming pool areas or any other intermittently or permanently wet areas (without compromising the value and strength of the final bond or seal)
We also took the decision to produce both the available colours to exact RAL matches of popular materials used in all aspects of internal and external construction. Thus a single cartridge could be used equally well internally as a sealant in a bathroom around sanitary ware etc. and externally on a PVC window frame to bond extrusions and/or seal to glazing applications.
Why use a hybrid polymer such as 3C Multi-Use Sealant & Adhesive?
Advancements in sealant & adhesive technology have made a strong case for using hybrid polymers in place of the old stalwart silicone products for several reasons, two major factors being that you can paint or stain over the cured material as a sealant and it has a far superior bond strength as an adhesive. Although the choice is subjective from user to user, you’ll find that a hybrid polymer product such as 3C Multi-Use can do everything a silicone can do but with better strength. (see the dedicated blog post titled SILICONE v HYBRID POLYMER here.)
Who is 3C Multi-Use Sealant & Adhesive for?
Although as a business, we deal in specific categorisation of both sealants and adhesives, as well as certain niche application products, the main purpose of producing a Multi-Use product was to cater for the professional and home DIY users who require a ‘goto’ product that would be an all-in-one solution to various problems without having to navigate the sub-category product lists.
What can 3C Multi-Use Sealant & Adhesive be used for?
As well as having a more than adequate adhesion to seal and/or bond the usual internal substrates such as wood, ceramic, stone, plastic and most metals, it also exhibits superb UV proof and waterproof characteristics for external sealing and bonding applications that are exposed to extreme weather conditions such as glazing frames, timber structures and mechanical fittings etc.

How do you apply 3C Multi-Use Sealant & Adhesive?
As with all cartridge based products, a mastic sealant gun (sometimes known as a caulking gun) are used as a means of controlled extrusion (usually anything from a 5-30mm bead for sealing and a thicker, 20-50mm ‘snake’ for bonding applications. As hybrid polymers are usually slightly thicker than traditional silicone-based sealant materials, a decent quality is normally used for products such as 3C Multi-Use Sealant & Adhesive. There’s a detailed blog post of the best mastic sealant guns here. To get an insight into some of the uses of 3C Multi-Use Sealant & Adhesive, please watch the brief video introduction below.
