Although we’re all fairly offay with the internet by now, many customers are still reluctant to ‘sign up’ or ‘register’ their details on a shopping website, preferring to checkout as a ‘guest’ or entering a bare minimum of details to receive goods from near and far. Whilst, we plan to give the choice of a ‘guest’ checkout soon, the way our system works at present, is that we do require you to enter all your details, thus making a pay as you go account (but with no payment details saved) Making the small effort to do this, has a few, useful advantages over a guest checkout, most importantly the ability to view your orders on ‘your account’ when logged into the E-Shop with your own password. Many of our customers use this feature regularly to keep track of their spending on orders and find exact products previously ordered.
For those customers whose business is registered in Southern Ireland with or without a valid VAT number, simply wishing to place an order, paying the VAT upfront, this is done in the normal way, (simply checkout and enter your details.
For those customers whose business is registered in Southern Ireland with a valid VAT number or customers based in the Channel Islands (no VAT number required), that wish to place an order without paying the VAT upfront, then there is a procedure in place to ensure that the subsequent orders placed are free of VAT with the appropriate, legal data in place. Please fill out the appropriate application form and send it through the website, we’ll then check the details are valid, set you up a VAT-free account in the backend of our system and email you back a login and password.
For various reasons, many customers don’t wish to have a credit account, preferring to ‘pay as they go’ and that’s fine with us, but, paying for goods at the point of sale as just a ‘no name’ cash sale, wether it be over the phone with a credit card or face to face on the counter in our show room, has one huge drawback for ourselves and our customers alike, with no unique identifier record of your order, traceability is almost impossible! For this reason, we’ve created TRADE ACCOUNTS. When you place an order online for the first time, you will be creating such an account automatically (this can then be subsequently used online, over the phone & counter for future orders making an upfront payment each time.) The benefits are; quick easy access to your entire order history, including products, quantities and prices. As well as the opportunity to setup individual special price breaks etc. for you that update automatically when you place orders.
As well as taking upfront payments, via SagePay (online) credit/debit card, bank transfer and cash (over the counter) we also offer credit terms for businesses of all sizes, subject to background credit checks and/or relevant third party references etc. The ability to order by email or over the phone, quickly and easily, without the need to convey payment details etc. is a time efficient method for many customers, whether they plan to collect their goods or have them delivered to their premises or site address. When you have a credit agreement with us, you will be provided with automatic invoices for each transaction and monthly statements via email or post, as desired (unless a zero balance shows on your account) Of course, the huge benefit of having a credit limit (agreed at the time of application) is the flexibility of 30 x days of interest-free credit to help you procure materials for your job and complete your work without the stress of paying your bills in advance of receiving payment yourself. This eases cash-flow tremendously and also helps with tracking your on-going costs with detailed breakdowns of your purchases.
