Damp Proofing
When deciding on the correct products for treating or preventing water damage, there’s an obvious difference between damp proofing and waterproofing in that dampproofing is used to deter the moisture created from soil, whilst waterproofing deters and stops moisture and liquids such as water. Damp proofing is usually applied to the outside of the wall as a paint or coating and is either bitumen-based, or a type of cream. Damp proofing is also applied to the insides of external walls via drilling and injection.

EPDM Membranes
Gaining trust and reliability in the waterproofing industry over the last 3 x decades, rubber membrane systems have become a goto choice for roofers, facades and frame installers. EPDM short for ethylene propylene diene monomer, is a type of synthetic rubber elastomer which is characterised by a wide range of applications. The M refers to its classification in ASTM standard D-1418; the M class includes rubbers having a saturated chain of the polymethylene type. Dienes currently used in the manufacture of EPDM rubbers are dicyclopentadiene (DCPD), ethylidene norbornene (ENB), and vinyl norbornene (VNB). EPDM rubber is closely related to ethylene propylene rubber (ethylene propylene rubber is a copolymer of ethylene and propylene whereas EPDM rubber is a terpolymer of ethylene, propylene and a diene-component).

Tanking
Used to prevent water ingress, tanking products or tanking systems create a tank, or barrier around a room, structure or building. For floors, walls and ceilings, tanking is normally some sort if thixotropic liquid and is applied by way of brush, squeegee or trowel etc.

Waterproofing By Application

Anti-Rust Coatings
Typically painted on with a brush or roller, coatings that treat rust and/or give future rust protection (typically known as anti-rust) are made from zinc and generally all thixotropic in nature. Sanitary Mastic Sealants
For waterproofing such applications as sanitary ware in bathrooms, shower rooms & wet rooms etc. as well as, countertops, sinks & units etc. in kitchens and other food areas, sanitary mastic sealant products are less able to accommodate movement compared to low modulus sealants, but will make a stiffer and more rigid final seal. The sanitary mastic sealant products tend to withstand repeated cleaning more efficiently than the softer more flexible low modulus ones. Bondaglass Vos (Rustins)

BONDAGLASS-VOSS LTD. IS NOW OWNED AND OPERATED BY RUSTINS

In the early 1960s Bondaglass was a leading brand of polyester fillers for vehicle repair and polyester resins for laminating with glass fibre. In those days the polyester filler was supplied as three products, a filler powder and resin to mix together to form a paste “the good old days.” Bondaglass also introduced Bonda Rust Primer, an anti-corrosion primer. This became a leading anti-rust product and is still highly respected by the car restorer. Of its type it is among the best on the market. Other products were glass fibre for use in repairing cars, boats and many other articles around the home. In 1973 Bondaglass joined with Vosschemie, a manufacture of similar quality products in Germany and throughout Europe. Bondaglass -Voss was founded.
